The UAE National Crisis, Emergency and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) has announced a 50 percent discount on fines issued for Covid-19 violations, as reported by WAM.

The discount can be availed for a period of two months, starting Wednesday, March 15. All Covid-19 related fines including those committed during the pandemic will be subject to the discounts.

Fines can be paid via the websites and smart apps of the Ministry of Interior and police commands.

Last month, Arabian Business reported that Dubai’s hospitality sector is set to grow further this year with an increased average daily rate and revenue per available room despite the low occupancy rate and increased supply compared to the pre-pandemic era.

The hotels across the emirate are expected to hit 80 percent occupancy rate this year with a steady increase in the average daily rate and revenue per available room as tourism is back on track, according to the Zoom Property Insights.

The Insights data indicates that international visitors to Dubai are expected to exceed the pre-pandemic period in 2023 which will benefit the hospitality industry.
