Dubai Sports World (DSW) opened at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) on June 19, for its 16th edition and it genuinely is, bigger, better, and more activity-packed than ever before. Those fitness PBs just keep coming.

Running until August 25, the summer-long event has taken over Za’abeel Halls 2 – 6 at the DWTC Exhibition Centre. As always there’s a huge selection of 40 sporting courts, pitches, and practice areas, spread over a 280,000 square feet area and they’re all served by blissfully blustery air conditioning.

Team sporting activities hosted at DSW include football, basketball, padel, table tennis, tennis, volleyball, badminton, cricket and pickleball.

There are (reasonably priced) booking charges for renting these services, starting at around Dhs50 per court, per hour. But there’s another way to get your gains here for absolutely free.

The huge gym comes fully fitted with equipment to support cardio and resistance geared fitness. There are machine weights and free weights, alongside modern cardio training units.

There is also a 1km stretch of running track (which can be used for walking laps too), allowing you to work on those long loop splits, in a temperature controlled environment.

And best of all, it’s completely free to use, Monday to Saturday, 7am to midnight.

DSW will also be hosting paid sporting academies and summer camps and there is the return of the perennially popular Dubai Kids World.

Activities here include a supervised soft play park, adventure zone, trampolines, giant inflatable slides and a dedicated arts and craft corner.

Prices for access start at Dhs60 for two hours or you can opt for the eight-hour option at Dhs80, between 10am and 8pm daily.
