If you’re due to fly in or out of Abu Dhabi Airport, it’s worth checking the latest status of airlines operating from the UAE’s capital city. Here are the latest Abu Dhabi flight status updates to know.
The UAE airspace remains open for travellers flying to Abu Dhabi, and in transit through the airport for connection flights. Etihad Airways, the UAE’s national carrier, is operating its regular flight schedule.
Etihad, the UAE flag carrier, is currently operating between Abu Dhabi and around 80 destinations across Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America and the GCC.
Airspace in the United Arab Emirates remains completely reopened since the beginning of May following a partial closure.
On Saturday August 8, scheduled flights to Kuwait and Bahrain are set to resume, according to Etihad’s flight status checker. This comes after flights to the two destinations were suspended for three weeks.
Etihad’s latest advice listed online states that the airline is operating a comprehensive commercial flight schedule worldwide. The airline recommends for all passengers to check their flight status before leaving for the airport.
Self-service rebooking continues to be available online.
Any tickets issued on or after Friday March 6 2026, with travel dates up until March 31 2027, are able to change their booking once with no fee.

All international Etihad passengers arriving in Abu Dhabi on Etihad flights will receive complimentary medical insurance for 15 days. You don’t need to do anything: you’ll receive an email to the email address associated with your Etihad account.
Etihad reminded guests that all services remain subject to operational approvals and may be adjusted depending on regional airspace conditions. Not all destinations operate daily.
Low-cost airline Air Arabia, which flies from Abu Dhabi to destinations including Cairo, Baku and Muscat, is operating from Zayed International Airport.
If you had a flight with Air Arabia that was previously cancelled, you can still use the rebooking system to choose a new flight or get a refund.
All British Airways flights to Abu Dhabi remain suspended until “later this year”, according to the airline.
Qatar Airways flights from Doha to Abu Dhabi have resumed. Those with confirmed travel dates until October 31 2026 are eligible for one complimentary date change to their booking.
Turkish Airlines flights to Abu Dhabi recommenced on July 1, and the airline is now fully operational to its scheduled routes across the Middle East. Routes to Iran are, however, affected, with the airline stating on its website: “Some of our flights to and from Iran and the surrounding region have been cancelled. The current situation in the region’s airspace is being monitored in real-time, and additional flight cancellations may occur”.
