The UAE Lottery has overhauled its flagship Lucky Day Draw to mark its first anniversary, doubling the frequency of the game and boosting one of its biggest prizes.

In a statement issued Sunday, the lottery operator confirmed that the draw will now take place every Saturday at 8.30pm, giving residents weekly chances to win up to Dh30 million.

In its first year, the lottery saw 100,000 winners and paid out more than Dh147 million.

Here’s everything you need to know about the major updates:

The weekly format began on November 29, with draws now held every Saturday at 8.30pm. Previously, the draws were held once in two weeks.

Yes, two major changes:

  • Grand Prize: Dh30 million - down from Dh100 million.
  • Second Prize: Now Dh5 million, up from Dh1 million. This marks a fivefold increase in the second prize.
  • Third Prize: Dh100,000
  • Fourth Prize: Dh1,000
  • Fifth Prize: Dh100

Tickets remain Dh50 each. The rules of participation have not changed.

Do players get anything extra with the same ticket?

Yes, every ticket automatically enters the weekly Lucky Chance Raffle, where three guaranteed winners each receive Dh100,000.

According to Scott Burton, Commercial Gaming Director at the UAE Lottery, the move follows a full year of listening to player feedback; residents wanted more chances to participate. “With weekly draws now in place, every Saturday will be someone’s Lucky Day.”

Since launch, it has:

  • Celebrated over 100,000 winners
  • Awarded over Dh147 million in prizes
  • Seen growing nationwide participation across all its games
