Tourists are in for a surprise upon arrival at the world’s busiest international airport this month.
And that’s because the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai is issuing a unique passport stamp to all passengers arriving at the emirate’s airports to mark the 54th Eid Al Etihad celebrations.
Those arriving at Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport are due to receive a commemorative ‘Zayed and Rashid’ stamp that captures the spirit of UAE National Day.
Launched by Brand Dubai, the stamp celebrates the legacy of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, whose vision laid the foundations for the UAE of today.
The stamp blends national symbolism with a visual identity inspired by both leaders and aims to revive the spirit of the early years of the union.
In a release via the Dubai Media Office, Brand Dubai described the stamp as a key feature of this year’s celebrations.
They said: “The ‘Zayed and Rashid’ stamp is one of the key features of this year’s Eid Al Etihad celebrations, providing visitors with a distinctive welcome upon arrival.
“It underscores the Spirit of the Union that defines the UAE during this national occasion, while GDRFA Dubai continues to reflect this spirit through an arrival experience that highlights the meaning and value of the Emirati identity.”
The stamp is just one of the many initiatives and celebrations to mark the anniversary of the formation of the United Arab Emirates, with the occasion marked by fireworks displays, parades and other festivities.
The annual celebration falls on December 2 every year, with festivities and initiatives extending throughout the National Month.
