Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that all public parking across the city will be free from the first day of Eid Al Fitr until the end of the third day of the holiday.

The exemption applies to all public parking zones, except multi-storey parking facilities.

Regular parking tariffs will resume from the fourth day of Eid, the RTA said in a statement.

The Islamic festival is expected to fall on either Thursday, March 19, or Friday, March 20, depending on when the crescent moon is sighted. The Islamic calendar is a lunar one, with the sighting of the crescent determining the start of months.

The RTA also announced the business hours for all its services during the Eid Al Fitr holiday from Thursday, March 19, to Saturday, March 21.

Red Line and Green Line stations of the Dubai Metro will operate as follows:

  • March 18 to March 21: 5am to 1am (next day)
  • March 22: 8am to 1am (next day)

Dubai Tram will operate the following:

  • Wednesday to Saturday: 6am to 1am (next day)
  • Sunday: 9am to 1am (next day)

Bus service changes

Passengers should note the following bus service changes:

  • Bus Route E100 will not operate from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station from the afternoon of March 18 until March 22.
  • Passengers can instead use Bus Route E101, which will operate from Ibn Battuta Bus Station to Abu Dhabi.
  • Bus Route E102 will operate from Al Jafiliya Bus Station to Musaffah from March 19 until March 22, 2026.

Vehicle testing centres

Service provider centres (vehicle technical inspection) will be closed during the Eid Al Fitr holiday from Thursday, March 19, to Saturday, March 21.

Technical inspection services will resume on Sunday at the following centres:

  • Tasjeel Al Twar
  • AutoPro Al Mankhool
  • Tasjeel Al Awir
  • Tasjeel Discovery Gardens
  • Al Yalayis
  • Shamil Al Muhaisnah
  • Al Mutakamela Al Quoz
  • Shamil Nad Al Hamar

If the holy month of Ramadan completes 30 days, the holiday will be extended until Sunday, March 22, to include all service provider centres.

Customer Happiness Centres

Customer Happiness Centres will also be closed during the Eid Al Fitr holiday.

However, the following will continue to operate around the clock:

  • Customer Happiness Centre at Umm Ramool
  • Smart Customer Happiness Centres in Deira
  • Al Barsha
  • Al Twar
  • Al Kifaf
  • RTA Head Office
