The Debenhams department store chain has closed its stores in the Dubai Mall and Mirdif City Centre, which was sad news for many Dubai residents.

For many years, Debenhams was not just a shopping mall, but a real symbol of "retail therapy". People chose outfits for special occasions, looked for hats and dresses for the races, and came here for various gifts.

For many shoppers, visiting department stores was a way to cheer themselves up. Rumors of the closure appeared during the Eid al-Adha sale: the shelves in the store began to empty, the number of mannequins decreased.

It was later announced that the stores would go digital. There is no official confirmation yet who will occupy the vacated premises. However, in retail circles, there is active discussion that Primark or Ulta Beauty may come to replace Debenhams.
