Abu Dhabi ranked first in the world’s safest cities list in 2025. for the ninth consecutive year, and residents have found a way to express their gratitude.

More than 5,000 individuals, including school students and parents, recently took part in a large-scale formation of a ‘human mosaic’ displaying the phrase “Safest City in the World, Abu Dhabi.”

The event was a community initiative organised by the Community Police Department of the Criminal Security Sector at Abu Dhabi Police, in collaboration with private partners, and included participants from various nationalities residing in Abu Dhabi. The initiative was also held in alignment with the “Year of Community 2025.”

Brigadier Dr Hamoud Saeed Al-Afari, Director of the Community Police Department, stated that the event took place at the Security Awareness Centre in Al Shamkha and earned Abu Dhabi Police official certificates from the Einstein World Records for this exceptional achievement—adding yet another milestone to the emirate’s record of security and community stability.

He expressed pride in the outstanding community participation, which demonstrated social cohesion and reflected strong public trust in the emirate’s security system. He highlighted that the initiative is part of Abu Dhabi Police’s ongoing efforts to enhance security awareness and promote a culture of community partnership, reaffirming the collaborative role of both public and private institutions in supporting societal stability.

“The event embodied Abu Dhabi Police’s vision of sustaining safety and security, and involved engaging all segments of society in purposeful initiatives that reinforce Abu Dhabi’s status as one of the world’s safest and most stable cities,” Abu Dhabi Police added.

Ranking first out of 382 global cities in the 2025 list, Abu Dhabi has held Numbeo’s title of the world’s safest city for almost a decade, which reflects the emirate’s ongoing efforts to enhance quality of life for citizens, residents and visitors.
