Tbilisi and Baku just got even easier to reach from the capital – here’s what to know before you book
If you’ve been eyeing a last-minute escape to somewhere leafy, lively and slightly cooler in temp, good news: Air Arabia Abu Dhabi has ramped up flights to Tbilisi and Baku, giving UAE travellers even more reasons to chill in the Caucasus.
Whether you’re in it for Baku’s buzzy food scene or Tbilisi’s artsy charm, these routes have become go-to getaways for UAE residents looking for a break from the heat – and now you’ve got more options to make it happen.
From August 7, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi will offer eight weekly flights to Tbilisi, with double-daily service every Thursday (yes, a proper long weekend getaway is calling). Meanwhile, Baku flights are up to six a week, running every day except Monday.
All flights depart from Zayed International Airport, so no need to trek further afield to catch a budget-friendly flight to cooler climes.
Air Arabia Abu Dhabi is clearly in growth mode. Alongside the increased Georgia and Azerbaijan flights, the airline recently launched new routes to Almaty in Kazakhstan and Yerevan in Armenia – all top picks for travellers craving a blend of nature, history and chillier summer weather.
With a fleet of 12 Airbus A320s (and two more joining by year’s end), they’re building a seriously competitive network from Abu Dhabi – one that’s fab for spontaneous long weekends or budget-friendly adventures without the layover headache.
