The UAE authorities have told residents of the country how to change the phone number linked to the Emirates ID if necessary. This can be done through the online platform of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) at http://smartservices.icp.gov.ae/.
For ICP account holders, the process of changing data is simple and quick. First, you need to log in to your account on the ICP website using UAE Pass or an existing login. After logging in, you need to select the department that issued the residence visa. Then go to the "Other Services" section and find the "Update Personal Information" option.
After selecting this option, the user will be asked to confirm that he is the recipient of the service. Next, you will need to select "Edit Mobile Number" and enter a new number. After that, the system will send a one-time password (OTP) to the specified number. After receiving the OTP, you need to enter it in the appropriate field. If all the data is filled in correctly, a message about successful password validation will appear.
In the next step, the system will provide the user with a summary of the request, which will indicate the old and new mobile phone numbers, as well as other details. After checking the information, all that remains is to make the payment for the service using a credit or debit card. After completing all the steps, a notification will be sent stating that the request has been successfully processed and the data has been updated.
The cost of the service is AED 151.4. After updating the mobile phone number linked to the Emirates ID, one can conveniently use all the government smart services available to citizens and residents. For any additional assistance, residents can contact the 24-hour ICP hotline - 600 522222.
