Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed Al Nahyan held a series of meetings with leaders of BRICS member countries in New Delhi. The talks focused on regional security and efforts to ease tensions in the Middle East, as well as strengthening the UAE’s economic and investment ties with India, Russia and Ethiopia.

One of the key meetings was between the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. The two sides discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest and stressed the need to continue efforts toward de-escalation. Particular attention was given to strengthening regional stability and creating conditions for peace and development.

In New Delhi, Sheikh Khaled also met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The talks took place during a reception at Hyderabad House and focused on further developing bilateral relations and expanding economic cooperation.

The two sides discussed the implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), as well as new opportunities for cooperation across various sectors. Narendra Modi conveyed his greetings to the UAE President and wished the country continued prosperity.

Sheikh Khaled also held a separate meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The two sides discussed the development of UAE-Russia relations and opportunities to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Sheikh Khaled and Vladimir Putin also exchanged views on regional and international issues and stressed the importance of continued coordination following the BRICS summit, including the practical implementation of its recommendations.

During the visit, the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince also met Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. The two sides discussed strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in various fields, with particular attention to joint projects that could support economic growth and sustainable development.

The UAE is participating in the BRICS summit for the third time since joining the group. In addition to the UAE, BRICS includes Iran, Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia and Indonesia. The UAE’s participation in the summit reflects the country’s efforts to strengthen multilateral ties while continuing to develop relations with key economic and political partners.
