Sharjah Airport is preparing for one of its busiest summer travel periods, with approximately 3m passengers expected to pass through its terminals during July and August 2026.

As part of an integrated operational plan developed with its strategic partners, the airport is also advising travellers to arrive early, check travel documents before departure and make use of services designed to speed up the airport journey.

The airport expects to handle around 19,000 flight operations during the two-month peak travel period.

According to Sharjah Airport, all operational teams and support services have been fully prepared to manage the increase in passenger numbers while maintaining high standards of safety, security and operational efficiency.

The airport said continuous performance monitoring and close coordination across its operational ecosystem will help ensure smooth passenger movement throughout the busy summer season.

Passengers flying through Sharjah Airport this summer are advised to:

  • Arrive at the airport at least three hours before their scheduled departure
  • Check flight details with their airline before travelling
  • Ensure all required travel documents are valid
  • Review baggage regulations before arriving at the airport
  • Services to speed up your journey

Sharjah Airport is encouraging passengers to use its range of passenger services to help reduce waiting times and improve the travel experience.

These include:

  • Home Check-In, currently available in Sharjah, allowing passengers to complete travel procedures from home before heading to the airport
  • Self-service check-in facilities at the airport
  • Al Diyafah hospitality service, where passengers can relax in the lounge while a dedicated team completes their travel procedures

The airport said the Al Diyafah service is particularly suitable for travellers and families seeking a more convenient airport experience.

Sharjah Airport said it continues to enhance its operational readiness and develop its services to keep pace with growing travel demand.

The airport said the measures support its commitment to delivering a seamless and efficient passenger experience while contributing to the sustainable growth of the aviation sector in Sharjah.
