If you’re planning on heading to Dubai Mall then you may need to find a new meeting point to see your mates.

One of the busiest taxi drop-off and pick-up points at one of the world’s biggest malls has now changed.

The taxi point close to Waitrose has now been moved to Zabeel P3. So if you’re one of the people who likes to cut out the long walk to the Metro then you’ll now need to keep a different spot in mind.

The new spot means you’ll need to take a hike (admittedly, a much shorter one than from the Dubai Metro station) across the road in the bridge-tunnel from the Ekart Zabeel to get to the rest of Dubai Mall.

However, the taxi drop-off and pick-up point near the huge indoor waterfall remains in place.

The change was announced via the mall’s Instagram account on their story section and came into effect from Monday August 12.

Earlier this year, Dubai Mall introduced parking fees for the first time following an announcement in December 2023.

Barrier-free ticketless parking was brought in with Salik and uses vehicle plate recognition to deduct fees.

The first four hours are free with charges introduced thereafter at Grand parking, Cinema parking and Fashion parking.

Zabeel, where shoppers will now need to get a taxi, and Fountain Views do not currently charge for parking.

A new tourist hop on and hop off bus in Dubai has also recently been announced, with Dubai Mall as its starting point for all journeys.

Dubai Mall is one of the world’s largest malls in the world and is set to get even bigger as plans for a Dhs1.5billion expansion were announced in June.

240 new luxury retail and dining options will be added to the already massive mall.

Currently measuring in at 1.2 million square metres, it’s the second-largest shopping mall in the world by total land area.

In 2023, it was the most retail and lifestyle destination in the world as it raked in more than 105 million visitors.
