The Dubai Public Prosecution has issued a statement clarifying the recent allegations made by R.H., a Gulf national, regarding legal actions taken against her in Dubai. The statement, confirmed by the Dubai Media Office, addressed the situation surrounding her arrest.

Investigations revealed that R.H. was arrested for being drunk in public, causing a disturbance, and assaulting Dubai Police officers. She also used obscene language towards the officers during the incident.

As a result of these findings, the Dubai Public Prosecution has decided to refer both R.H. and her case to the Dubai Criminal Court for further legal proceedings.

In its statement, the Public Prosecution emphasised that anyone who violates the law will be held accountable, reaffirming that the rule of law remains the ultimate authority in Dubai. It also highlighted that the law applies equally to all residents and visitors, ensuring that everyone’s rights and responsibilities are respected within the city.

In Dubai, consumption of alcoholic beverages is only permitted in restaurants or lounges that have a valid alcohol licence. It is prohibited to consume alcohol in public.

People are allowed to consume alcoholic beverages in their homes or living spaces if they have an alcohol licence.
