Dubai’s Floating Bridge will close for 5 weeks on Monday due to maintenance works, the city’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said in a statement on Friday.

The authority devised an integrated plan to reroute the traffic to alternative roads and crossings, namely Al Maktoum Bridge, Infinity Bridge, and Al Garhoud Bridge.

Al Mamzar Street’s exit will open for motorists coming from Al Ittihad Street in addition to main roads such as Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road.

Commuters can use the Al Mamzar Exit to avoid traffic from Sharjah through Al Ittihad Street. This route was previously restricted to taxis and buses but will be opened to the public in order to ease access to the Infinity Bridge via Cairo and Al Khaleej Streets.

To ease traffic from Deira to Bur Dubai through Al Khaleej Street, the RTA advises commuters to use the Infinity Bridge.
