The Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) has announced the official rollout of the ‘Our Flexible Summer’ initiative across all Dubai Government entities, following the success of its pilot phase in 2024.

The move aims to promote work-life balance and enhance employee well-being during the peak summer months.

The initiative will run from 1 July to 12 September 2025 and will be implemented at the discretion of each government entity. It offers employees two flexible work schedule options while maintaining the standard five-day workweek.

In the United Arab Emirates, as previously reported, over 10,000 air-conditioned rest areas with the necessary amenities for couriers to rest during the midday break have been equipped. The midday break will be in effect from June 15 to September 15, 2025.

As you know, delivery services are a key logistics sector with a unique operating model. Couriers are forced to constantly move around the city, especially when goods require prompt and accurate delivery. Workers can find the nearest rest areas using interactive maps in mobile applications.
