The Dubai Shopping Festival is back once again and that means we’re set for 38 spectacular days of the city’s skyline being lit up.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, we’re in for more than a month of fireworks, drone shows, pyro and light displays set against some of Dubai’s most famous landmarks.

Included in the exciting line-up of events is a massive display on Bluewaters Island and The Beach, JBR, with the backdrop of Ain Dubai featuring skydiving stunts, pyrotechnics and drones.

There will also be twice-daily free drone shows at the same location which will pay tribute to the 30th anniversary of the festival.

Dubai Lights, which sees fun interactive light installations pop up at destinations all over the city.

Since it first launched in 1996, the annual shopping festival has grown beyond the world’s longest-running retail festival to become an annual citywide celebration showcasing the best of Dubai to visitors and locals alike.

The festival itself will bring non-stop bargains and top-quality gigs to Dubai in addition to the daily displays in the skies between Friday December 6 and Sunday January 16.

You’ll be able to see the skyline at its best from Dubai Festival City Mall every night at 8.30pm during the Dubai Shopping Festival.

Every Friday and Saturday during DSF at Hatta, you’ll see pyrotechnics light up the Hajar Mountains.

There will be twice-daily free-to-watch drone shows presented by Emarat and AO Drones at Bluewaters Island and The Beach, JBR.

The two drone performances will be held at 8pm and 10pm every evening and feature 1,000 drones in the skies.

Shows will take on two different themes during the Dubai Shopping Festival period.

Between Friday December 6 and Thursday December 26, the theme will pay tribute to the last three decades of the Dubai Shopping Festival.

And the second theme will run between Friday December 27 and Sunday January 12 and celebrate a fusion of tradition and modernity with powerful beats and innovative sound effects.

There will also be two very special pyro-drone (drones which are fitted with pyrotechnics) shows held during the festival.

On Friday December 13, there will be 150 pyro-drones and skydiving stunts at 8pm at Bluewaters Island and The Beach, JBR, which will be set against Ain Dubai. A second show without the skydivers will then be held at 10pm.

On Friday January 11, to mark the closing weekend there will be another set of shows at the same location featuring 150 pyro-drones.

Dubai Lights is returning once again this year with immersive installations transforming some of the emirate’s most iconic destinations.

There will be one-of-a-kind, interactive installations at various locations including Bluewaters Island, Palm Nakheel Mall, Palm West Beach, Al Seef, Dubai Design District and Al Marmoom.

The installations will be created by renowned international artists, designers and architects and each location will feature a unique installation.
