Mall set to be located in a 22 million square feet master-planned development near Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), the new shopping mall will act as the anchor for the new community.
Dubai has big long-standing plans to develop the area surrounding DWC, which will itself eventually become the world’s largest capacity airport, into a city within the city and this new community looks like it will be a big part of those plans.
The community will be based in Dubai South, a large single urban master development focusing on aviation, logistics and real estate.
And the mall will be developed by Majid Al Futtaim, which owns and operates more than 20 malls across the region including Mall of the Emirates.
Details at this stage are limited with the announcement of plans for an as-yet unnamed community in Dubai South only announced on Tuesday May 19. However, we do know that the mall is planned to be a key retail, entertainment and lifestyle destination for residents and visitors to the emirate.
Separately, the wider community will feature a diverse mix of residential, retail and lifestyle offerings designed to serve the growing population within Dubai South and surrounding areas.
Strategically located near Al Maktoum International Airport, the development will benefit from seamless connectivity to key highways and major transport corridors.
