In the United Arab Emirates, the VFS Global visa application center has issued a warning to travelers wishing to apply for tourist visas.

As is known, the number of applications increases sharply before the summer season, which means that processing times are extended. To avoid stress and delays, experts recommend planning the application process in advance.

The main tips from the center, which operates in Dubai and Abu Dhabi:

Apply in advance

It is recommended to apply for a visa at the same time as booking tickets and a hotel. Most countries accept applications 90 days before the travel date, and for a Schengen visa, you can apply 6 months before departure.

Be aware of processing times

During peak season, consulates and embassies may process applications longer than usual. The exact processing times are indicated on the VFS Global website and on the consulates' web pages.

Check the list of documents

The website www.vfsglobal.com contains lists of required documents and visa requirements for different countries. Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your return date.

Book an appointment online

You can book your application online on the VFS Global website. It is recommended that you arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time.

Track your application status

Once your documents have been submitted, you can track their status online. Once your passport is ready for collection or delivery, the information will be updated. Once your application has been submitted to the embassy, VFS Global cannot influence its processing.

Beware of scammers

Applicants should avoid dubious intermediaries offering paid services to book an appointment or submit documents on behalf of VFS Global. The company does not charge for booking an appointment on the official website.
