Wynn Resorts, UAE’s home to its first casino has named its main contractor to undertake the works on the ground-breaking Marjan Island property in Ras Al Khaimah – ALEC. The announcement was made on Wednesday by Marjan Island in partnership with RAK Hospitality Holding and Wynn Resorts Limited.

ALEC Engineering and Contracting (ALEC), part of the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD) was awarded the main contract for constructing the casino resort development. Bauer International was announced to take the piling and enabling works.

Ras Al Khaimah is currently writing gaming laws for the casino, using Singaporean and US regulations as its foundation, with the Wynn Marjan planning its casino operations in the emirate.

Earlier this month, Arabian Business reported that Wynn Resorts, the developer that revealed plans for casino operations in Ras Al Khaimah has now registered trademarks for the names ‘Arabian Strip’ and ‘Marjan Strip’. The trademarks were filed by the Vegas hotel firm last year and have now successfully been registered.

Wynn Marjan, which is set to open in 2026 in Ras Al Khaimah, will be home to a casino around 18,500 sqm in size, according to Craig Billings, CEO of Wynn Resorts.

“To fulfil and surpass the expectations of investors and all our stakeholders, we have teamed up with the best-in-class partners for the timely completion of a project that is the largest of its kind in the Emirate’s growing hospitality sector,” said Abdulla Abdooli, Chief Executive Officer of Marjan.

“Well-known for their cross-sector capabilities and expertise in building landmark projects, the appointment of ALEC Engineering and Contracting LLC and Bauer International FZE will ensure the timely completion of the integrated Wynn Resort, that is set to further catalyse Ras Al Khaimah’s booming tourism market.”
