Saudi Arabia has announced a new e-visa for fans visiting the Kingdom to watch the FIFA Club World Cup.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with support from the Ministry of Sports, will offer the e-visa to ticketholders of the major sporting event due to be held in Jeddah this month.
The event will be staged at King Abdullah Sports City and Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium in Jeddah and is the last FIFA Club World Cup in the current annual format before a 32-team version played every four years starts in June 2025.
In a statement on social media, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports, launches a feature of issuance of e-visa for ticket holders of the 2023 Fifa Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia.
“This step aims to Facilitate travel procedures to the Kingdom for football fans attending the matches of the FIFA Club World Cup 2023 and provide the best possible experience for fans to visit the Kingdom and support their teams during the tournament amid an exciting atmosphere”.
A new section has appeared on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, giving ticket holders the chance to apply for an electronic visa to enter the Kingdom.
The tournament is set to take place from December 12 to 22 and features:
- Manchester City
- Flamengo
- Al-Ittihad
- Al Ahly
- Auckland City
- Club León
- Urawa Red Diamonds
Al Ittihad will open the seven-team tournament against Auckland City, the champion of Oceania.
