The number of cases of the new JN.1 Covid strain is rising around the world. Most of the infected were found in the US, UK and India. The World Health Organization (WHO) called the virus a “Variant of interest.”

Therefore, travelers from the United Arab Emirates need to take care of their health when going on vacation to other countries.

The main symptoms of the disease include fever, runny nose, sore nose and throat, headaches, gastrointestinal problems and extreme fatigue.

Doctors recommend that when traveling, be sure to wear a mask in high-traffic areas and large crowds of people, such as airports and train stations. This is especially important if the tourist is traveling to a country where there have already been cases of JN.1 Covid.

At the same time, we should remember that after visiting public places, you must thoroughly wash and disinfect your hands, and also get vaccinated against whooping cough and flu on time. These measures are especially recommended for older people, people with weakened immune systems, those who suffer from allergic reactions or other chronic diseases such as diabetes or hypertension.

In addition, healthcare representatives advise eating right, avoiding stressful situations, getting quality and complete rest, not visiting places with large crowds of people and maintaining a social distance of 2 meters.

If a traveler notices symptoms of the disease, it is best to stay home and consult a doctor to avoid spreading the disease to other people.

The JN.1 virus is now responsible for about 20% of new Covid-19 cases in the country, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). It is the fastest growing strain in the United States and is already dominant in the Northeast.
