Dubai has launched the world’s first digital smart card dedicated to tourists of determination, packed with exclusive privileges, including free services.

With the introduction of the innovative Sanad Tourist Card, the Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai is providing visiting tourists of determination access to the same benefits offered to people of determination holding the Sanad Card in the city.

Maitha Mohammed Al Shamsi, CEO of the Community Empowerment Sector at the CDA, said the initiative reaffirms Dubai’s vision as a leading inclusive destination for everyone.

“This is the world’s first digital card issued upon arrival for tourists coming to Dubai. Tourists will have access to all the services that people of determination living in Dubai receive. We want to ensure that Dubai is the best city to visit for everyone,” Maitha told Gulf News on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market.

Tourists can enjoy exceptional experiences, including free access to public transportation such as the Dubai Metro, buses, and ferries; free entry or discounts at top tourist attractions like Dubai Parks and Dubai Frame; a special parking permit; a 50 per cent discount on taxi fares; and exclusive discounts at malls, restaurants, pharmacies, and telecom providers.

The digital card will be issued within 24 hours of a tourist’s arrival in Dubai.

Maitha noted that the initiative follows a study conducted in collaboration with the Dubai Economy and Tourism Department.

“The study covered more than 65,000 tourists in Dubai. There were specific questions regarding services for people of determination. Based on the findings, we were able to launch this initiative as a starting point. We have more plans in place to ensure that people of determination have access to all the services they might require during their visits to Dubai.”
